I complain a lot about the world (rightly so!), but this weekend was excellent. My family made a really nice Father’s Day(s) for me and I feel really good.

I finally got around to fixing up my Piggy. The stabs were overlubed and now they are just right.

The Piggy mechanical keyboard on the Keebmat deskmat. The Piggy is on a bamboo colored desk. The little action figure of Walle is visible in the background.

This is the Piggy with White on Lilac in the DSA profile. The switches are Emerald Silks which are unfortunately no longer available, but these NovelKeys silks are the same, just in a different color.

It’s like the show Extrapolations outside my window here in NYC.

Tech sites: Man, traffic is down, ad sales are down… Maybe Apple will create something we can all have hot takes on.
Intern: Even without using the thing?
Tech sites: Yes.
Apple: Here’s our idea for a new kind of computing.
Intern: I wrote up 1,000 words about how this will make us all sad forever.
Tech sites: Without using the product?
Intern: Yes.
Tech sites: Attaboy!

Apple was dreaming of Apple Silicon since Steve Jobs came back to Apple. Heck, many of their products were built as if they were already using their own chip design: Power Mac G4 Cube, original MacBook Air, 2013 Mac Pro.

Can you imagine if the cylinder Mac Pro came out today with Apple Silicon? What a great Mac that would be with the high-end M1 Ultra, 128GB of RAM, and 8TB of storage!

I hope next week we see a totally different Mac Pro designed with Apple Silicon in mind.

The United States’ answer to “why can’t we?

We do love our children so, chapter 128.

I came across this tweet about a basking shark. Amazing.

I stand by my long-time stance that if Earth was written about in science fiction it wouldn’t be believed. It would be a step too far. How many languages? How many species of animals and insects? How much water? How much land? How much beauty?

The Clean Water Act is now a problem?

If any politician paid tribute today to the children killed in Uvalde while also not moving legislation ahead to ban guns, well… they can fuck right off.

Someone needs to make an app that makes it easy to subscribe and unsubscribe to streaming services. I think I could save a lot of money it was easier to turn these services on and off.

You know, kind of like how you can toggle off a subscription on an iPhone.

Our media will be our downfall: SCOTUS edition.

I just finished reading The Kaiju Preservation Society by John Scalzi.

Bob summary: This is a fun way to get into summer reading. Rating: Thumbs up.

Why are they still a company? Why is no one in jail?

“Why didn’t we host the Trump town hall?” -NYTimes, presumably

Our media will be our downfall: CNN edition. How how how are people surprised CNN is a POS? How?! The only time I go to CNN is to check my internet connection.

I used to say that if you wanted to kill someone in America and get away with it, use a car. Now, apparently, if you choose the victim carefully, you don’t have to even do that.

Our media will be our downfall, CNN edition.

About to have the last parent teacher conference ever (they aren’t called that any longer) and I’m having feelings.

As a surprise, I took my son to see Singing in the Rain in the cinema. I will never tire of that movie. It’s about as perfect as a musical can be.
