Not only this (and even then, “this” is huge), but also Apple catches a lot of grief for AirPower. Yeah, the charging pad they announced but never shipped because it wasn’t good enough.

How many companies would have shipped the fucking thing anyway? I can think of at least one!

Same for the car. Oh, Apple blew it with the car, some say. Please. If cars are the future, then humanity doesn’t have a lot of time left. One could maybe argue that the VisionPro is a failure, but I wouldn’t write it off. I don’t want a thing strapped to my face, but VisionOS could be used for something else. And I think it will be.

Are there a lot of real, legitimate issues around Apple and Tim Cook specifically? Of course. It is incredibly distasteful that Cook gave an award to Trump. You know what is more distasteful? Electing Trump, watching him organize an attack on the Capitol, and then re-electing him. It’s exhausting to listen to folks complain about Cook when they are not in the situation of running a big company and having to manage a relationship with President Deals. And it’s especially galling to listen to folks complain when their entire career and income is based on Apple and Tim Cook’s successes. Yes, I’m aware those successes are in partnership with those complaining, and that’s why I don’t actively write letters (big keyboard warrior that I am) to those complaining. I do roll my eyes, however.

John Ternus could be a turning point for some parts. I sincerely hope Ternus revisits the App Store and lowers the fees Apple charges. I bet he does.
